Job Description

Our cafe is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Sandwich Maker to join our food preparation team. The successful candidate will help create fresh, appealing sandwiches while maintaining excellent food quality, cleanliness, and service standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, takes pride in presentation, and can perform efficiently in a busy cafe environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and other cafe food items according to established recipes.
• Slice, portion, assemble, and present ingredients neatly and consistently.
• Maintain proper food storage, hygiene, and preparation standards.
• Monitor ingredient levels and inform the supervisor when supplies need replenishing.
• Keep preparation areas, utensils, and equipment clean and organised.
• Follow food safety procedures and minimise food waste.
• Assist with general kitchen duties during busy service periods.
• Respond professionally to customer requests and dietary requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sandwich Maker, Food Preparation Assistant, Line Cook, or similar role is preferred.
• Certificate or training in Culinary Arts, Food Preparation, Catering, or a related field is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent food quality.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining cleanliness.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Creativity and an eye for attractive food presentation.
