Key Responsibilities

• Prepare sandwiches, wraps, paninis, and light meals according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated using stock control procedures.
• Slice, portion, and prepare vegetables, meats, cheeses, and other ingredients.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic food preparation area at all times.
• Restock workstations and monitor ingredient levels throughout each shift.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Support colleagues during busy service periods to ensure prompt customer orders.
• Minimise food waste through careful portioning and stock management.
• Report equipment faults or food quality concerns to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sandwich Maker, Kitchen Assistant, Food Preparation Assistant, or in a similar cafe food preparation role is preferred.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to prepare food accurately while maintaining consistent quality.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, customer-focused environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
