Quality Control Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Officer to join our restaurant team. In this role, you will help ensure that every meal, ingredient, and process meets established quality, safety, and hygiene standards while supporting continuous improvement across daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of food preparation, storage, and serving areas.
• Monitor compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Inspect incoming food supplies to verify freshness, quality, and specification compliance.
• Identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate quality control records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage temperatures, and stock rotation procedures are followed.
• Support internal audits and regulatory inspections.
• Train and guide team members on quality assurance and food safety best practices.
• Investigate customer complaints related to food quality and recommend preventive measures.
• Collaborate with kitchen and management teams to improve operational standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree, or professional certification in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, Hospitality Management, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Previous experience in quality control, food safety, or quality assurance within a restaurant, food service, or food production environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and sanitation practices.
• Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare detailed inspection and compliance reports.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital record-keeping systems.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Professional certification in food safety or quality management is an added advantage.
