A busy cafe is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to oversee the sourcing and procurement of goods essential to daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who can build strong supplier relationships, negotiate favorable terms, monitor inventory levels, and ensure quality products are consistently available. Key Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase food, beverages, equipment, and operational supplies.
• Identify reliable suppliers and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Compare prices, quality, and delivery schedules to secure the best value.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment of stock.
• Prepare and process purchase orders while maintaining accurate procurement records.
• Verify deliveries to ensure orders are complete and meet quality standards.
• Work closely with kitchen and cafe teams to anticipate purchasing needs.
• Track supplier performance and resolve purchasing or delivery issues promptly.
• Support cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and established budgets.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in a cafe, restaurant, or food service environment.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, storage standards, and supply chain practices is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different departments.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and problem-solving ability.
