Public Area Attendant

Job Description

Keep the hotel looking fresh, clean, and welcoming from the moment guests walk through the door. We are looking for a Public Area Attendant who takes pride in maintaining spotless shared spaces and understands that great guest experiences often begin with a well-kept environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hotel lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairways, entrances, and public restrooms.
• Replenish toiletries, tissues, and other guest-area supplies when required.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish according to hotel procedures.
• Monitor public areas and respond promptly to spills, messes, and cleanliness concerns.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products safely and correctly.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged fixtures, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and keep equipment organised.
• Support the housekeeping team with additional cleaning duties when needed.
• Follow hotel hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
• Interact politely and professionally with guests while carrying out daily duties.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial services, or a similar role is an advantage.
• Good understanding of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, and workplace safety.
• Physically fit and able to stand, walk, bend, and move cleaning equipment during shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Friendly attitude with good communication and guest-service skills.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and products is preferred.
