Procurement Assistant

Job Description

A busy bar is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Assistant to support the purchasing and inventory function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent organisational skills, and is committed to ensuring stock, supplies, and equipment are available when needed. As a Procurement Assistant, you will work closely with management and suppliers to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sourcing beverages, food items, bar supplies, and operational materials.
• Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and promptly.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and pricing.
• Verify delivered goods against purchase orders and report discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, invoices, and supplier documentation.
• Support inventory counts and stock reconciliation activities.
• Compare supplier quotations to help secure competitive pricing.
• Coordinate with bar and kitchen teams to meet purchasing requirements.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and budgets.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory control, or a related administrative role is preferred.
• Familiarity with purchasing processes and stock management practices.
• Strong numerical, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience using inventory or procurement software is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Dependable, professional, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
