A busy, welcoming restaurant is looking for a reliable and motivated Prep Cook to join the kitchen team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, values clean food preparation, and takes pride in helping chefs deliver great meals every day. You will play an important part in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by preparing ingredients, supporting line cooks, and maintaining high food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards
• Assist chefs with basic cooking preparations such as sauces, stocks, and marinades
• Ensure food items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated for freshness
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Follow food hygiene and safety regulations at all times
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Report any shortages or equipment issues to senior kitchen staff

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is an advantage
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure
• Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
• Good attention to detail and consistency in food preparation
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment
