Job Description

Our restaurant is looking for a detail-oriented Pantry Chef to join the kitchen team and help deliver fresh, well-presented dishes throughout every service. The role is ideal for a chef who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, takes pride in precise preparation, and can maintain high standards in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare salads, cold appetisers, sandwiches, dressings, garnishes, and other pantry items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Wash, trim, cut, portion, and store ingredients correctly to maintain freshness and quality.
• Support the kitchen team with preparation tasks before and during service.
• Maintain an organised and well-stocked pantry station throughout each shift.
• Ensure all dishes leaving the station meet the restaurant’s standards for taste, portion, and presentation.
• Monitor ingredient levels and communicate replenishment needs to the kitchen supervisor.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures.
• Minimise food waste through careful preparation, storage, and portion control.
• Clean and sanitise workstations, utensils, and equipment after use.
• Assist with other kitchen duties when required to keep service running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Culinary training or a recognised qualification in professional cookery is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Pantry Chef, Garde Manger, Commis Chef, or in a similar restaurant kitchen role.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, knife skills, and cold food presentation.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent portion sizes.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy restaurant service.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and willing to learn and develop professionally.
