Order Taker

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, organized, and attentive Order Taker to join our growing cafe team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with customers, thrives in a fast paced environment, and takes pride in ensuring every order is handled accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and assist them with placing food and beverage orders.
• Accurately record customer orders using the cafe’s ordering system.
• Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and daily specials.
• Communicate orders clearly with the kitchen and service team.
• Ensure special requests and dietary preferences are correctly noted.
• Process payments and issue receipts when required.
• Monitor order progress and keep customers informed of any delays.
• Maintain a clean and organized ordering and cashier area.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Order Taker, Cashier, Customer Service Representative, or in a similar cafe or food service role is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple orders accurately.
• Comfortable using point of sale systems and basic computer applications.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
• Strong numerical skills for handling payments and transactions.
• A customer focused attitude with a positive and friendly personality.
