Order Taker

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, attentive, and well-organized Order Taker to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring every order is taken accurately and delivered with excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and assist them with menu selections.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately in person, by phone, or through digital ordering systems.
• Enter orders into the point of sale system with attention to detail.
• Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and daily specials.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure timely order preparation.
• Process payments and issue receipts when required.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized ordering area.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and customer service standards.
• Support other cafe operations as needed during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Order Taker, Cashier, Customer Service Representative, or in a similar cafe or food service role is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent listening skills with the ability to record orders accurately.
• Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems and basic computer operations.
• Good numerical skills for handling payments and transactions.
• Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy service periods.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A positive attitude with a customer focused approach.
