Maintenance Technician

Job Description

A reputable hotel is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join its engineering and facilities team. This role is ideal for an individual with strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, respond promptly to repair requests, and ensure all hotel systems and equipment operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel facilities and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas, and operational departments.
• Conduct minor carpentry, painting, tiling, and fixture repairs as required.
• Monitor the performance of generators, water systems, boilers, pumps, and other building equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and hotel standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing.
• Assist with room refurbishment projects and renovations when required.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
• Report equipment failures, safety hazards, and maintenance requirements to the Engineering Supervisor or Facilities Manager.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and maintenance workshops remain organized and in good working condition.
• Support emergency maintenance responses and participate in scheduled on-call duties when necessary.

Qualifications

• Diploma, certificate, or vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Maintenance, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in hotel, hospitality, commercial building, or facility maintenance is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building repairs.
• Ability to read technical manuals, maintenance schedules, and basic engineering drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance management systems is an advantage.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
