Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Our busy bar is looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to help keep our facilities, equipment, and systems operating safely and efficiently. If you enjoy solving technical problems, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and staff, we’d like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance on bar equipment and facilities.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Troubleshoot faults and implement effective repair solutions.
• Ensure lighting, air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems remain in good working condition.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and report potential hazards.
• Coordinate with external contractors when specialized repairs are required.
• Maintain maintenance records, repair logs, and inventory of tools and spare parts.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with venue setup modifications and minor renovation projects when needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma, or vocational training in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in facility or building maintenance, preferably within the hospitality, food service, or entertainment industry.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair techniques.
• Ability to read technical manuals, maintenance schedules, and basic wiring or mechanical diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance tasks.
• Physically capable of lifting equipment, using maintenance tools, and working in various environments.
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards and preventative maintenance practices.
• A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
