Maintenance Manager

Job Description

A well-established restaurant is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep, safety, and reliability of all building systems, equipment, and facilities. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who can lead maintenance operations, coordinate repairs, and ensure the restaurant remains in excellent working condition while supporting uninterrupted daily service.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and building infrastructure.
• Lead, supervise, and support the maintenance team, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
• Inspect restaurant facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and resolve issues promptly.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
• Monitor equipment performance and arrange timely servicing to minimise operational downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and asset inventories.
• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets while controlling operational costs.
• Respond quickly to emergency maintenance issues and implement effective solutions.
• Recommend equipment upgrades and facility improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree, or professional certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a maintenance management or facilities management role, preferably within a restaurant or commercial food service environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and team coordination skills.
