Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the hotel’s maintenance department.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Lead, train, and support the maintenance team to achieve high performance.
• Ensure all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and building systems operate efficiently.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Coordinate repairs with external contractors and service providers when required.
• Monitor maintenance budgets, inventory, and equipment procurement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues to minimise operational disruptions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with department managers to ensure guest rooms and public areas remain in excellent condition.
• Recommend and implement energy-saving and cost-effective maintenance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance management or facilities management role within a hotel or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and building maintenance systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and asset management practices.
• Familiarity with health, safety, fire, and building compliance standards.
• Ability to manage maintenance budgets and control operational costs.
• Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and standard computer applications.
• Relevant technical certification, trade qualification, or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related field is preferred.
