Maintenance Manager

Job Description

A well-established hotel is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep, repair, and safe operation of all hotel facilities and equipment. This leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, managing maintenance teams, and ensuring guests experience a comfortable, well-maintained environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in preserving the property’s assets while maintaining high operational and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily maintenance operations across the hotel.
• Lead, train, and evaluate maintenance technicians and contractors.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Ensure electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and mechanical systems operate efficiently.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and minimize operational disruptions.
• Monitor maintenance budgets and control repair costs.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and equipment servicing.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
• Coordinate renovation projects and oversee contractor performance.
• Source maintenance materials, equipment, and spare parts as required.
• Recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management, or a similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and asset management practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications is an advantage.
