Maintenance Manager

Job Description

A busy restaurant environment needs a steady hand to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. This role ensures that kitchens, dining areas, utilities, and equipment remain in peak condition so daily service is never interrupted. The Maintenance Manager oversees all repair, servicing, and preventive maintenance activities across the facility. From electrical systems to plumbing, refrigeration units, and general building upkeep, the position is central to operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise routine inspection of restaurant equipment, kitchen appliances, and building infrastructure
• Coordinate repairs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime
• Manage maintenance budgets, parts inventory, and supplier relationships
• Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns to minimize disruption to service
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, hygiene regulations, and operational policies
• Oversee maintenance staff and external contractors, ensuring quality workmanship
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing history, and inspection reports
• Recommend upgrades or replacements for outdated or inefficient systems
• Support renovations, installations, and equipment setup when required

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facility or maintenance management, preferably within hospitality or food service environments
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, refrigeration, and general building maintenance
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment specifications
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising teams or contractors
• Good problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail under pressure
• Familiarity with health, safety, and operational compliance standards
• Basic computer literacy for reporting, scheduling, and maintenance tracking systems
• Relevant technical training or certifications in engineering, maintenance, or related fields is an advantage
