Linen Room Attendant

Job Description

Keep the hotel’s linen operations organised, hygienic, and efficient as a Linen Room Attendant. You will be responsible for receiving, sorting, storing, issuing, and maintaining linens while ensuring housekeeping teams have a consistent supply of clean, well-presented items. Attention to detail, physical organisation, and a dependable approach are essential for keeping daily hotel operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Receive, count, sort, and inspect clean and used linen according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of linen received, issued, returned, damaged, or sent for laundering.
• Distribute clean linen and related supplies to housekeeping staff as required.
• Keep linen storage areas clean, orderly, dry, and properly arranged.
• Check linen for stains, tears, damage, or excessive wear and report issues promptly.
• Separate damaged or unsuitable items for repair, replacement, or disposal.
• Coordinate with laundry and housekeeping teams to maintain adequate linen stocks.
• Assist with periodic linen inventories and stock reconciliation.
• Handle hotel textiles carefully to minimise damage and unnecessary loss.
• Follow workplace hygiene, safety, and infection-control procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel, laundry, housekeeping, or linen-related role is an advantage.
• Good understanding of linen handling, storage, and basic inventory procedures.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organisation, and detail.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling linen loads.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
• A certificate or training in housekeeping, laundry operations, or hotel services is an advantage.
