Laundry Supervisor

Job Description

A well-organised hotel is looking for a capable and detail-focused Laundry Supervisor to oversee daily laundry operations and ensure that linens, towels, uniforms, and other fabrics are processed to a consistently high standard. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, practical laundry knowledge, and a commitment to cleanliness, efficiency, and timely service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of laundry attendants and related staff.
• Monitor the collection, sorting, washing, drying, pressing, folding, and distribution of hotel linen.
• Ensure towels, bed linen, uniforms, and other fabrics are handled according to appropriate care procedures.
• Inspect finished laundry to maintain cleanliness, quality, and presentation standards.
• Organise staff schedules, workloads, and daily assignments.
• Monitor the use of detergents, cleaning supplies, and other laundry materials to minimise waste.
• Identify damaged, stained, or worn items and arrange for appropriate action.
• Maintain accurate records of laundry volumes, stock levels, and linen movements.
• Ensure laundry equipment is used safely and report faults or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Train team members on proper laundry procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and other hotel departments to meet operational requirements.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe laundry work environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Laundry Management, Hospitality Operations, Hotel Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or hotel operations role, with supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial laundry procedures, fabric care, stain removal, and garment handling.
• Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Ability to organise workloads and meet operational deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality.
• Basic knowledge of laundry equipment and workplace safety procedures.\
