Job Description

A well-organised and detail-focused Laundry Supervisor is needed to oversee daily laundry operations in a hotel. The role involves coordinating laundry staff, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, managing linen flow, and ensuring equipment and supplies are used efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a practical understanding of hotel laundry procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of laundry staff.
• Assign duties and organise work schedules according to operational requirements.
• Inspect washed, dried, pressed, and folded items to ensure quality standards are met.
• Monitor the collection, sorting, processing, and distribution of hotel linen and uniforms.
• Ensure laundry equipment is operated safely and correctly.
• Monitor the use of detergents, cleaning supplies, and other laundry materials.
• Keep accurate records of linen movement, damaged items, and stock levels.
• Identify stained, damaged, or worn items and arrange appropriate treatment or replacement.
• Train new and existing team members on laundry procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the laundry area.
• Report equipment faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and other hotel departments to meet linen requirements.
• Ensure health, safety, hygiene, and hotel operating standards are consistently followed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a laundry, housekeeping, linen, or related hotel operation.
• Experience supervising or leading a team is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of laundry processes, fabric care, stain treatment, and linen handling.
• Good understanding of commercial laundry equipment and safe operating procedures.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Good communication and team leadership abilities.
• Basic record-keeping and inventory management skills.
