A well-established restaurant is seeking an experienced and highly organised Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations and maintain exceptional standards of food quality, efficiency, cleanliness, and teamwork. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who can coordinate kitchen activities, manage inventory, support staff development, and ensure a consistently outstanding dining experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Supervise, motivate, and schedule kitchen staff to achieve operational goals.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Monitor food preparation to ensure recipes and portion standards are followed.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs and waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
• Inspect kitchen equipment and arrange maintenance or repairs when required.
• Work closely with chefs and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
• Train new kitchen employees and support ongoing staff development.
• Resolve operational issues promptly while maintaining a positive work environment.
• Prepare reports on kitchen performance, stock levels, and operational needs.
• Assist with menu planning, pricing, and the introduction of new dishes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing kitchen operations in a busy restaurant.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices.
• Ability to manage inventory, purchasing, and cost control effectively.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using inventory or kitchen management systems is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
