Kitchen Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a dependable Kitchen Assistant who is ready to support our kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly.
• Keep kitchen workstations, storage areas, and food preparation surfaces clean and sanitized.
• Receive, unpack, and properly store food deliveries.
• Dispose of waste and recycling according to established procedures.
• Replenish kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation using the FIFO method.
• Perform other kitchen support duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar kitchen support role is an advantage.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Good physical stamina with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
