Inventory Officer

Job Description

A well-established coffee shop is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Officer to oversee stock control and ensure the smooth flow of inventory across daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate records, preventing stock shortages, and supporting an efficient workplace where quality and consistency matter.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily inventory levels for coffee beans, beverages, food items, packaging, and operational supplies.
• Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Maintain organized storage areas using proper stock rotation practices.
• Conduct routine stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with inventory records.
• Prepare inventory reports highlighting stock movement, shortages, and reorder requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and management to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
• Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, damages, or losses.
• Monitor product expiry dates and minimize waste through effective inventory management.
• Maintain accurate inventory documentation and update inventory management systems.
• Work closely with the kitchen and barista teams to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential supplies.
• Support cost-control initiatives by monitoring inventory usage and reducing unnecessary waste.
• Ensure inventory procedures comply with internal operational standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably within a coffee shop, restaurant, café, or food service environment.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong numerical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prepare accurate inventory reports and maintain detailed records.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to identify inventory discrepancies and resolve stock-related issues promptly.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Understanding of stock rotation methods and inventory control best practices.
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to maintaining inventory accuracy.
