Inventory Controller

Job Description

We are looking for an Inventory Controller to join our café team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate stock records, coordinating inventory processes, and ensuring supplies are always available to support excellent daily service.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records for food, beverages, packaging, and operational supplies.
• Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries.
• Conduct routine stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Monitor stock usage and identify unusual inventory variances.
• Coordinate stock replenishment to prevent shortages and overstocking.
• Ensure proper storage, stock rotation, and inventory handling procedures.
• Prepare inventory reports for management.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve stock-related issues.
• Support cost control initiatives by reducing waste and improving stock accuracy.
• Maintain organised storage areas that comply with food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma, certificate, or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Inventory Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably within a café, restaurant, or food service environment.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and move stock when required.
• Knowledge of stock rotation methods and food safety practices is an advantage.
