Inventory Clerk

Job Description

A busy coffee shop is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Clerk to oversee stock movement and maintain accurate inventory records. This role is essential to ensuring ingredients, beverages, packaging materials, and supplies are available when needed while minimizing waste and preventing stock shortages. The ideal candidate is dependable, methodical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Receive, inspect, and record deliveries from suppliers.
• Organize and store stock according to safety and quality standards.
• Conduct routine stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Track inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
• Rotate stock using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method where applicable.
• Assist with ordering supplies based on inventory needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure storage area.
• Prepare inventory reports and support regular audits.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in inventory management, logistics, or business administration is an advantage.
• Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, retail, hospitality, or a similar role is preferred.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to lift and move stock safely when required.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Honest, reliable, and able to maintain accurate records.
