Head Bartender

Job Description

Our bar is looking for an experienced and confident Head Bartender to lead the bar team and deliver an exceptional experience for every guest. The successful candidate will combine strong drink knowledge with excellent leadership, ensuring smooth service, consistent quality, responsible alcohol service, and a welcoming atmosphere throughout every shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate the bar team during daily operations.
• Create and maintain high standards for cocktails, drinks, presentation, and service.
• Develop cocktail recipes and seasonal drink selections where required.
• Train bartenders on techniques, recipes, service standards, and product knowledge.
• Monitor stock levels, place supply requests, and minimise waste.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and control beverage costs.
• Ensure the bar, equipment, glassware, and work areas remain clean and organised.
• Handle guest requests, concerns, and service issues professionally.
• Coordinate with management and other bar staff to ensure efficient service.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Support scheduling, opening, closing, and end-of-shift procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Head Bartender, Lead Bartender, or Senior Bartender.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and other beverages.
• Excellent mixology, presentation, and customer service skills.
• Previous experience supervising or training a bar team.
• Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good understanding of stock control and beverage cost management.
• Ability to remain composed and efficient during busy service periods.
• Professional appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Certification in bartending, mixology, beverage management, or a related field is an advantage.
