Do you have a passion for grilling and creating exceptional dishes with precision and consistency? We are looking for a skilled Grillardin to join our restaurant kitchen team. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in preparing perfectly grilled meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables while maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook grilled menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Operate and maintain grills, charbroilers, and other grilling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor cooking temperatures and timings to ensure food is cooked to the required specifications.
- Prepare ingredients, marinades, seasonings, and garnishes for grilling operations.
- Ensure all dishes leaving the grill station meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
- Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Monitor stock levels for the grill station and report replenishment needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station throughout each shift.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies using proper inventory practices.
- Minimize food waste through careful preparation and portion control.
- Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with additional kitchen duties as required.
Qualifications
- Certificate, diploma, or formal training in Culinary Arts, Professional Cookery, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Grillardin, Grill Chef, or in a similar grilling role within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality establishment.
- Strong knowledge of grilling techniques, meat cuts, seafood preparation, and cooking temperatures.
- Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining consistency.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment.
