Job Description

Do you have a passion for grilling and creating exceptional dishes with precision and consistency? We are looking for a skilled Grillardin to join our restaurant kitchen team. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in preparing perfectly grilled meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables while maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook grilled menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Operate and maintain grills, charbroilers, and other grilling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor cooking temperatures and timings to ensure food is cooked to the required specifications.
  • Prepare ingredients, marinades, seasonings, and garnishes for grilling operations.
  • Ensure all dishes leaving the grill station meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Monitor stock levels for the grill station and report replenishment needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station throughout each shift.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies using proper inventory practices.
  • Minimize food waste through careful preparation and portion control.
  • Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with additional kitchen duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Certificate, diploma, or formal training in Culinary Arts, Professional Cookery, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience as a Grillardin, Grill Chef, or in a similar grilling role within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of grilling techniques, meat cuts, seafood preparation, and cooking temperatures.
  • Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining consistency.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment.
