DJ Coordinator

Job Description

A bar is looking for a well-organised and music-savvy DJ Coordinator to manage the planning, scheduling, and smooth execution of DJ performances. The role requires someone who understands live entertainment, can work confidently with DJs and bar staff, and knows how to create a consistent music experience that keeps guests engaged throughout the night.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate DJ schedules, bookings, set times, and performance requirements.
• Communicate with DJs regarding music formats, event themes, arrival times, and technical needs.
• Work closely with bar management and staff to align music programming with expected guest traffic and events.
• Prepare and maintain DJ calendars, booking records, and performance schedules.
• Ensure DJs arrive on time and are prepared before each scheduled performance.
• Coordinate sound checks and communicate technical requirements to relevant staff.
• Monitor the flow of music during events and address scheduling or performance concerns promptly.
• Assist with planning themed nights, special events, and promotional entertainment programmes.
• Maintain professional relationships with resident and guest DJs.
• Help resolve last-minute scheduling, technical, or performer-related issues.
• Track performance feedback and make recommendations for improving the bar’s entertainment programme.
• Ensure entertainment activities follow the bar’s operational and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree, or professional training in music, entertainment management, event management, communications, or a related field is advantageous.
• Previous experience coordinating DJs, live entertainment, events, or music programmes.
• Strong knowledge of different music genres, DJ performance styles, and entertainment trends.
• Excellent organisational and scheduling skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple performers and activities at the same time.
• Familiarity with DJ equipment, sound systems, and basic technical requirements.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in a busy bar environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
