DJ Coordinator

Job Description

A bar is looking for a DJ Coordinator to manage music programming, coordinate DJs, and help create an engaging atmosphere throughout operating hours. The ideal candidate should have strong organisational skills, good knowledge of music trends, and the ability to coordinate smoothly with DJs, management, and bar staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate DJ schedules, bookings, and performance times.
• Communicate event details and music expectations clearly to DJs.
• Work closely with management to plan music programmes for regular nights and special events.
• Monitor DJ performances and ensure music remains suitable for the bar’s atmosphere.
• Coordinate sound checks and liaise with technical staff when necessary.
• Maintain an organised calendar of DJ bookings and upcoming events.
• Help identify new DJs and emerging music talent.
• Stay informed about current music trends, popular genres, and audience preferences.
• Support promotional activities for DJ nights and special music events.
• Address scheduling or performance issues promptly and professionally.
• Ensure DJs follow the bar’s operational guidelines and agreed performance arrangements.
• Gather feedback from management and guests to improve future music programming.

Qualifications

• Previous experience coordinating DJs, music events, entertainment programmes, or similar activities.
• Good knowledge of different music genres and current music trends.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple bookings effectively.
• Comfortable working in a busy bar environment, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
• Basic understanding of DJ equipment and sound systems is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with DJs and staff.
• Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
• Reliable, proactive, and attentive to detail.
• A qualification or training in music, entertainment management, event coordination, or a related field is an advantage.
