A thriving café is looking for a strategic and results-driven Director of Purchasing to oversee procurement operations and ensure a consistent supply of high-quality products and equipment. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced professional who can build strong supplier relationships, negotiate favorable contracts, and implement purchasing strategies that support operational excellence while maintaining cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and quality products.
• Manage procurement budgets and monitor purchasing expenditures.
• Oversee inventory planning to ensure adequate stock levels without unnecessary overstocking.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain long-term vendor relationships.
• Ensure purchased goods meet quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with café management, kitchen, and operations teams to forecast purchasing needs.
• Review contracts and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
• Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead and mentor the purchasing team while driving continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior purchasing or procurement leadership role, preferably within the hospitality or food service industry.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Excellent analytical, financial, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems.
• Sound knowledge of purchasing regulations, quality standards, and supply chain best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
