Delivery Driver

Job Description

Our restaurant is looking for a reliable and responsible Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that meals are collected, transported, and delivered to customers promptly and professionally. We are seeking someone who understands the importance of safe driving, good time management, careful handling of orders, and respectful customer service.

Responsibilities

• Collect completed food orders from the restaurant and verify them against delivery details.
• Deliver meals to customers safely, efficiently, and within expected timeframes.
• Handle food packages carefully to maintain presentation and quality during transit.
• Confirm customer addresses and follow suitable routes to minimise delays.
• Provide polite and professional service when interacting with customers.
• Keep delivery equipment and assigned vehicle clean and in good working condition.
• Follow all road safety regulations and restaurant delivery procedures.
• Report delivery issues, delays, damaged orders, or customer concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Maintain accurate records of completed deliveries and returned items where required.
• Assist the restaurant team with basic tasks during periods without deliveries.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or similar role is preferred.
• Good knowledge of local roads and effective route planning.
• Strong time-management and organisational skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle food orders carefully and responsibly.
• Physically fit enough to carry and transport food packages safely.
• Basic ability to use smartphones, navigation applications, and delivery systems.
• A responsible approach to vehicle safety and road regulations.
