Job Description

Our restaurant is seeking a talented and creative Confectionery Chef to lead the preparation of exceptional desserts, pastries, cakes, and other sweet creations. The ideal candidate will combine technical skill with artistic presentation, maintaining high standards of flavour, freshness, consistency, and food safety. This role offers an opportunity to contribute new ideas to our dessert menu while ensuring every creation reflects the restaurant’s quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cakes, pastries, desserts, chocolates, and other confectionery products.
• Develop and refine recipes, fillings, creams, glazes, and decorative elements.
• Maintain consistent quality, portion sizes, presentation, and taste.
• Create attractive dessert presentations suitable for restaurant service.
• Monitor ingredient quality, stock levels, and proper storage.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
• Coordinate preparation schedules to ensure desserts are ready for service.
• Minimise ingredient waste while maintaining product quality.
• Support menu development with seasonal and innovative dessert concepts.
• Train and guide junior pastry and kitchen team members when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or professional qualification in Pastry Arts, Baking, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Confectionery Chef, Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry production, and confectionery preparation.
• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation standards.
• Strong attention to detail and a refined sense of presentation.
• Creativity and the ability to develop original dessert concepts.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Professional approach to teamwork, consistency, and quality control.
