Do you enjoy preparing quality dishes while developing your culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant? We are looking for a dedicated Commis Chef to support our kitchen team in delivering consistently excellent meals. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, values teamwork, and takes pride in maintaining high food preparation and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
• Ensure food is prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
• Store food correctly and monitor stock to minimize waste.
• Help receive and inspect food deliveries for quality and freshness.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
• Carry out additional kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or similar food preparation role is an advantage.
• Culinary training or a certificate in professional cookery is preferred.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties.
• A positive attitude, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
