Job Description

Our restaurant is looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join the kitchen team. If you enjoy working with fresh ingredients, learning new techniques, and keeping up with a lively kitchen, this could be a great opportunity to grow your culinary skills while working alongside experienced chefs.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with food preparation, cooking, plating, and basic kitchen tasks.
• Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.
• Keep workstations, utensils, and equipment clean and organised.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
• Store ingredients properly and monitor freshness.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Help with stock checks and minimise food waste.
• Follow instructions from senior chefs and contribute to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Culinary training, catering qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and a positive attitude.
