Job Description

We are looking for a talented Chef de Cuisine to lead our kitchen team, oversee daily food production, and bring creativity and precision to every plate. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership with a genuine passion for developing menus and maintaining outstanding restaurant standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Develop and refine menus in line with the restaurant’s culinary direction.
• Supervise, train, and motivate chefs and kitchen staff.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, flavour, and consistency.
• Manage food preparation, portion control, and plating standards.
• Monitor inventory, minimise food waste, and support effective cost control.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Work closely with restaurant management to coordinate menus, specials, and service requirements.
• Evaluate ingredients and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Monitor kitchen performance and introduce improvements where necessary.

Qualifications

• Culinary arts qualification, professional chef certification, or equivalent training.
• Several years of progressive experience in a professional restaurant kitchen, including leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
• Demonstrated ability to create and execute high-quality menus.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality-control procedures.
• Good knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and portion control.
• Ability to remain organised and effective during busy restaurant services.
• Creativity, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to culinary excellence.
