Job Description

Our café is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Cashier to join the team. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, handling transactions accurately, and helping create a smooth and welcoming experience for every guest. You will be an important part of the daily café operation, supporting customers from the moment they place an order through payment and collection.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and process orders accurately.
• Handle cash, card, and digital payments efficiently.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and issue receipts.
• Confirm prices, promotions, and order details before completing transactions.
• Maintain an organised and presentable cashier station.
• Balance the cash drawer and report discrepancies promptly.
• Respond politely to customer questions and resolve basic payment concerns.
• Coordinate with café staff to ensure orders are processed smoothly.
• Follow cash-handling, hygiene, and security procedures.
• Support other front-of-house duties during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, retail, café, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong numerical and basic cash-handling skills.
• Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and digital payment platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, attentive, and able to work accurately under pressure.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• A certificate or diploma in business, customer service, hospitality management, or a related field is an advantage.
