Café Operations Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for a Café Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations, support team performance, and ensure the café consistently provides excellent service, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys leading by example.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily café operations to ensure efficient service
• Lead, motivate, and support team members during shifts
• Monitor food and beverage quality to maintain high standards
• Assist with staff scheduling and shift coordination
• Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of all café areas
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve concerns professionally
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate inventory replenishment
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees
• Prepare operational reports and communicate performance updates to management
• Assist in achieving sales, cost control, and profitability targets

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a café, coffee shop, restaurant, or similar food service environment
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound understanding of café operations and customer service standards
• Experience with inventory management and basic cash handling procedures
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a busy environment
• Good problem solving and decision making skills
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations
• Proficiency in using point of sale systems and basic computer applications
