Café Operations Supervisor

A well-established café is looking for an experienced Café Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations and ensure every customer enjoys outstanding service. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and is passionate about maintaining high standards across all areas of the café.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily café operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house and back-of-house team members.
• Monitor food and beverage quality to maintain consistent standards.
• Coordinate staff schedules and oversee shift operations.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to the team.
• Manage stock levels, place supply orders, and reduce waste.
• Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and workplace hygiene standards are consistently met.
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
• Monitor cash handling procedures and assist with daily sales reconciliation.
• Support the implementation of promotions and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising operations in a café or similar food service environment.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with inventory management and stock control.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
