Cafe Assistant

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and provide attentive service.
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments.
• Prepare and serve beverages, light meals, and snacks according to established standards.
• Replenish food displays and beverage stations throughout the day.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service counters, and workstations.
• Wash and sanitize utensils, equipment, and preparation areas.
• Assist with receiving and organizing stock deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and report items requiring replenishment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Support team members during busy service periods.
• Resolve basic customer enquiries professionally and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, coffee shop, or customer-facing role is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic food preparation and beverage service knowledge is preferred.
• Comfortable handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety practices.
