Cafe Accountant

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
• Process daily sales, expenses, invoices, and supplier payments.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Monitor cash flow and maintain financial controls.
• Prepare payroll and ensure timely salary processing.
• Assist in developing budgets and tracking financial performance.
• Manage tax records and support statutory filings.
• Analyse financial data and provide recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and relevant regulations.
• Support internal and external audits when required.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a cafe, restaurant, retail, or food service environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and tax compliance is an advantage.
