Barista

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly and energetic Barista to join our coffee shop team. You will be responsible for preparing quality drinks, serving customers with a positive attitude, and helping create an enjoyable coffee shop experience from the first order to the last sip.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and other beverages to established standards.
• Take customer orders accurately and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other bar equipment.
• Keep the coffee preparation area clean, organised, and well stocked.
• Recommend drinks and assist customers with menu selections when needed.
• Handle payments and operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
• Monitor ingredient levels and notify the supervisor when supplies need replenishing.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace procedures.
• Work effectively with colleagues during busy service periods.
• Help maintain a welcoming and energetic atmosphere throughout the coffee shop.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, or similar customer-facing environment is preferred.
• Good knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso-making techniques.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable operating coffee equipment and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Reliable, punctual, and well presented.
