Job Description

Our coffee shop is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. The successful candidate will play an important role in creating memorable customer experiences by preparing quality coffee, serving beverages with care, and maintaining a welcoming, well-organised service area. Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and other beverages according to established standards.
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments efficiently.
• Recommend beverages and assist customers with menu selections when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee preparation and service areas.
• Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely.
• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace procedures.
• Ensure every beverage is presented neatly and consistently.
• Handle customer requests and resolve minor concerns professionally.
• Support colleagues during busy service periods to maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a coffee shop is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage service.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate and care for professional coffee equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced coffee shop environment.
• Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills.
• Food safety or barista certification is an advantage.
• Professional, dependable, and well-presented approach to work.
