Job Description

Our coffee shop is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. The successful candidate will play an important role in creating excellent coffee experiences, serving customers with care, and maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming coffee shop environment. We value attention to detail, consistency, teamwork, and a genuine passion for quality beverages and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and other beverages according to established standards.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other bar equipment safely.
• Welcome customers, take orders accurately, and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Keep the coffee preparation area, equipment, and service counters clean and organised.
• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors when ingredients or supplies need replenishment.
• Handle customer requests and resolve service concerns professionally.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
• Support the wider coffee shop team during busy periods.
• Process payments accurately and maintain proper cash-handling practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar coffee service role is preferred.
• Good knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and basic coffee brewing techniques.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced coffee shop.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to beverage quality.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team.
• Relevant barista, food service, or beverage preparation training is an advantage.
