Assistant Restaurant Manager

Job Description

A busy dining venue is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to help oversee daily operations, support staff coordination, and ensure consistently high service standards across all guest touchpoints. In this role, you will act as a key link between the kitchen and front-of-house teams, helping to maintain smooth service flow, resolve operational issues quickly, and support the Restaurant Manager in delivering a polished guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day restaurant operations and ensure service runs efficiently across all shifts
• Supervise front-of-house staff, offering guidance, training support, and performance feedback
• Assist in managing guest experiences, handling enquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally
• Coordinate with kitchen leadership to ensure timely and accurate food service
• Monitor cleanliness, presentation standards, and compliance with internal procedures
• Help schedule staff and manage shift coverage to maintain operational balance
• Track service flow and support improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Assist with inventory checks, ordering coordination, and stock control
• Uphold safety, hygiene, and operational standards at all times
• Step in for the Restaurant Manager when required

Qualifications

• Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality supervision
• Strong understanding of customer service and front-of-house operations
• Ability to lead teams confidently while remaining approachable and supportive
• Good communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
• Basic knowledge of scheduling, stock handling, and service coordination
• Professional attitude with attention to detail and consistency
