Assistant Barista

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly and motivated Assistant Barista to join our coffee shop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, learning new skills, and contributing to a team that values quality, consistency, and outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing coffee, tea, and other specialty beverages to established standards.
• Welcome customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service.
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments efficiently.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, and other supplies.
• Keep workstations, equipment, and seating areas clean and organised.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Monitor inventory levels and report items that need replenishment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
• Support senior baristas during busy service periods.
• Help maintain an inviting and professional coffee shop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, or customer service role is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of coffee preparation and espresso machines is desirable, but training can be provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, reliable, and eager to learn.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
