Assistant Barista

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Barista to join our growing coffee shop team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in preparing quality beverages, and is eager to learn while creating a welcoming experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing a variety of coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages to company standards.
• Support the Barista with daily beverage preparation and service.
• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, equipment, and seating areas.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, and other supplies throughout the day.
• Ensure food and beverage presentation meets quality standards.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including equipment setup and cleaning.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, or customer service role is an advantage but not essential.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is desirable.
• Willingness to learn espresso machine operation and beverage preparation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, energetic, and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting when restocking supplies.
