Assistant Barista

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Barista to support daily operations, prepare quality beverages, and deliver friendly service to every guest. If you are passionate about coffee, eager to learn, and enjoy working as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages to established standards.
• Support the Barista with drink preparation during busy service periods.
• Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process customer payments.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee preparation and customer service areas.
• Restock coffee beans, syrups, milk, pastries, and other supplies as needed.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained according to operational guidelines.
• Help display baked goods and merchandise attractively.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, or customer-facing role is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is preferred, but training can be provided.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to multitask and remain organised during busy periods.
