Assistant Bar Manager

Job Description

A lively and well-crafted bar is looking for an Assistant Bar Manager who can bring energy, structure, and a strong sense of hospitality to the team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys leading from the floor, keeping service smooth, and ensuring guests always leave with a great experience. You will work closely with the Bar Manager to oversee daily operations, support staff performance, and maintain high standards across service, cleanliness, and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Support the Bar Manager in overseeing daily bar operations
• Supervise bartenders and bar staff during shifts
• Ensure drinks are prepared and served according to standard recipes and presentation
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control and ordering
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
• Assist in staff training, onboarding, and performance improvement
• Help drive sales through upselling and excellent guest engagement

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar, lounge, or hospitality environment in a supervisory or senior bartender role
• Strong knowledge of beverages, cocktails, and bar operations
• Good leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure during busy hours
• Basic understanding of stock control and inventory management
• Customer-focused attitude with attention to detail
