Job Description

A well-managed hotel is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will oversee financial records, monitor transactions, support budgeting activities, and help maintain accurate financial reporting. This role is ideal for a finance professional who combines strong analytical ability with excellent organisation and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
• Prepare regular financial reports, reconciliations, and accounting statements.
• Monitor daily hotel revenue and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies promptly.
• Monitor cash handling and ensure proper financial controls are followed.
• Support payroll processing and maintain relevant financial documentation.
• Assist with audits and provide requested financial records.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable financial regulations and hotel policies.
• Work closely with management and other departments to resolve financial issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification or progress toward certification is an advantage.
• Previous accounting experience, preferably within a hotel, restaurant, or service-based environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
