Inventory Clerk

Job Description

Our bar is looking for a reliable and organised Inventory Clerk to help maintain accurate stock records and support smooth daily operations. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, keeping records up to date, and ensuring drinks, ingredients, supplies, and other bar items are properly monitored from delivery to use.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for beverages, ingredients, and bar supplies.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical quantities with inventory records.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, excesses, damaged items, or discrepancies.
• Organise storage areas to ensure items are clearly labelled and easy to locate.
• Track stock usage, transfers, wastage, and expired products.
• Prepare inventory reports for management and assist with stock ordering.
• Work closely with bartenders, supervisors, and suppliers to resolve inventory issues.
• Follow proper storage, handling, and stock rotation procedures.
• Support regular audits and ensure inventory records remain accurate.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, retail, or a bar environment is an advantage.
• Good numerical and record-keeping skills.
• Comfortable using spreadsheets, inventory software, or point-of-sale systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to identify and investigate stock discrepancies.
• Honest, dependable, and capable of handling confidential inventory information.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
