Job Description

Our restaurant is seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and shape an exceptional dining experience. The successful candidate will combine creativity, strong leadership, and commercial awareness to develop outstanding menus while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, safety, and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the kitchen team, assigning duties and maintaining efficient service.
• Design innovative menus that reflect the restaurant’s culinary identity and customer preferences.
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation standards.
• Monitor food costs, inventory, purchasing, and portion control.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to build a high-performing team.
• Coordinate with restaurant management to plan menus, promotions, and special events.
• Maintain consistent quality across all dishes and service periods.
• Manage kitchen budgets and minimise unnecessary waste.
• Stay informed about culinary trends, ingredients, and modern cooking techniques.

Qualifications

• Culinary Arts degree, diploma, or recognised professional chef qualification.
• 5+ years of progressive professional kitchen experience, including leadership experience.
• Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, or senior culinary manager.
• Strong knowledge of international cuisine, menu development, and kitchen operations.
• Excellent leadership, organisation, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Creative approach to menu planning and food presentation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage food costs, stock, and kitchen budgets.
• Passion for delivering exceptional food and developing culinary talent.
